These wilderness retreats are organized and run by Sky Mind Retreats, a California non-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate nature-based meditation retreats. For more information, please visit our website at skymindretreats.org.

The listed cost for each retreat covers only the direct expenses of the retreat.

In accordance with the tradition of freely offering the teachings of the Buddha, there is no fee for the teachers included in the cost of the retreat. At the end of the retreat, there will be an opportunity to make an offering to the teachers; through the generosity of participants, the teachers receive financial support which allows them to continue to teach.

Each of our wilderness retreats combines meditation practice with the adventure of being in the wilderness. Our mindfulness practice carries over from sitting meditation to affect everything we do: hiking, swimming, talking, sharing in council circle, silence and solitude.

Our wilderness retreats are pilgrimages to ourselves, sacred journeys to interconnectedness.

Our canyon routes take us through narrow redwalled canyons and under immense alcoves with hanging gardens. We'll discover waterfalls and secluded Anasazi petroglyphs. We will camp streamside, where breezes sigh through the willows and cottonwoods.

On our slickrock routes we wander through some of the most wild and beautiful slickrock country in the southwest. We'll hike and camp beneath majestic outcrops, take our water from still pools and rushing streams, watch eagles and stars. We'll experience the magical silence of the desert.
