Alison Reitz, Director and Head guide

Alison Reitz. There's no place she'd rather be than the Escalante area. She's been leading Cloud Canyon trips for seventeen years and exploring this country for twenty-four years. Back home she has two grown daughters and four granddaughters. She has a Masters Degree in Geology, is a certified Wilderness First Responder, and a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School's outdoor educators course. She practices Vipassana meditation and is a graduate of Spirit Rock Meditation Center's Dedicated Practictioners Program. Alison has explored wild places from the southern deserts to the Brooks Range, above the Arctic Circle.

Debbie Lowry, left, joined Cloud Canyon as an assistant guide in 2004. She made her first trip to the slickrock with Alison (right) in 1992. She lives in Vermont where she is a hospice nurse. She has been meditating for twenty years. Debbie has great patience and friendliness, and finds deep joy in sharing her love of the Southwest with others.

Susie Harrington, co-leader

Susie Harrington has been meditating since 1990, and been engaged in Vipassana practice since 1995. She has completed Spirit Rock Meditation Center's Dedicated Practitioners Program and Community Dharma Leader program. She has taught and led wilderness trips for thirty years.
